Whip up something delicious with our

Caramelized Maple Venison

1 lb venison steaks (cut thin)

½ cup all purpose flour

1/4 stick butter

½ tsp garlic salt

½ tsp pepper

small  onion (optional)

½ C Maple Moon Maple Syrup

¾ C Maple Moon Granola

Pound venison steaks to tenderize.  Dip steaks in flour and place in the hot pan with melted butter.  Season with garlic salt and pepper.  Fry on medium heat for approximately 8 minutes on each side.  When fully cooked, add maple syrup and granola to the pan and cook for 2 more minutes or until carmalized. 

Maple Sugar Cookies

1 C butter, softened

1 C packed brown sugar

1 egg

 1 C Maple Moon maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla

2 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

4 C all-purpose flour

1/3 C granulated Maple Moon maple sugar (for decoration)

Preheat oven to 350.

 In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar.  Add the egg, syrup and vanilla.  Mix until well blended.

Sift together the flour,salt and baking soda. Stir into mixture until well blended.  Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.  Place on cookie sheets about 2 inches apart and flatten slightly.

Bake 8 – 10 minutes in the preheated oven.  Let cool on wire rack.  (Yield 5 dozen cookies)

Optional:  Put a dollop of ice cream between the cookies and make a delicious ice cream sandwich.

Maple Carrots

6-8 carrots

2 Tb butter

2 Tb brown sugar

2 Tb maple syrup                     

Wash and peel carrots. Cut the carrots into 1 inch pieces. Cook in covered pan with ½ C water.  Cook 15 minutes. Drain the extra water.  Place drained carrots in a greased baking dish.  Pour syrup and brown sugar over the carrots.  Dot with butter. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.  Serves 4

Maple Sugar Coated Almonds

1 egg white and 1 Tb water whipped until foamy

1 C maple sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

Mix  sugar, salt and cinnamon

 

Add 1 lb almonds (pecans or other nut) to whipped egg white and then mix wet nuts into sugar mixture.

Lay out on a greesed pan and bake for 15 minutes at 300.  Stir and bake another 15 minutes at 300.

Maple Moon Smoothie

1 Cup chopped kale (washed)

1 Cup frozen organic blueberries

1 Cup unsweetened almond milk

3 Tb maple syrup

1 tsp real vanilla

Blend well in a blender (approx.. 1 min.) and serve
