March means it's time to "tap" into spring.
Tree-tapping marks the official start of maple syrup season.
Visiting a sugar shack is pretty much a right of passage into spring. For $5 per person, learn the history of "sugaring off," get first hand experience as to how to identify and tap a sugar maple tree, collect the sap and discover how the process of making real maple syrup begins.

Maple Moon Sugarbush and Winery is offering snowshoing every Saturday in February to those who own their own snowshoes.
A guided tour of their 80 acre forest will be held on the second Saturday in February, the anniversary of the launch of both the syrup business (2012) and wine business (2015) Snowshoes are provided by Bear Cub Outfitters and available to grab on-site. Marketed as “fresh air, exercise and wine tasting” they expect this trend will continue in the following years. They encourage you to get out to Maple Moon and visit an excellent unique winery while taking advantage of the fluffy white stuff at it’s peek.

Hotcakes for Haiti
Haiti is forever scored upon the hearts of the Petersen family who have been there several times over the past few years. The Petersens have gone as part of Reciprocal Ministry International. RMI's mission is to transform lives through church to church partnerships. This takes place through evangelism, discipleship, education, community development and social compassion.
When the Petersen's cannot be there, they use their own personal funds to support several children in a small mountainous village called Derevoix. They are also helping them to slowly build a school. Unlike the USA, it will sometimes takes 10 years to build a simple structure in Haiti due to the lack of .........

The Petersen family attend both Harbor Springs and Petoskey Farm markets every summer, selling all their amazing maple products. (Wine must be purchased at the store.)
Harbor Springs Farm Market is held every Wednesday and Saturday from 9-1
Petoskey Farm Market is held on Friday mornings from 8:30 - 1

Every Saturday in March and April we will be offering FREE tours of our operation. Enjoy the tantalizing smell of fresh maple syrup as you learn about the amazing technology used to harvest the most amazing natural sweet on earth! It's not just buckets anymore! Sample the difference between Grade A and Grade B syrup in our cozy on site store and learn why the color and flavor changes throughout the short 5 week harvest season. The tours are held at 2 and 4 PM. They last approximately one hour. Please dress appropriately for the weather. We will be outside for the first 15 minutes. And fair warning.... it tends to be muddy in the spring!
